How it started….

Two friends, one big idea!

From the beginning our story has been a very unconventional one.

We sat down a few years ago and shared our business dreams. We realized we had one main thing in common; a passion for mamas. We had already worked together with our businesses. Tina would schedule massages for her clients with Annwyn Massage Therapy (Meg), and while the client was getting a massage, Tina would take care of baby, help around the house and work her magic as Tina the Postpartum Doula. We realized quickly that we worked well together, but the dream of a postpartum house was still on Tina’s heart.

Another year passed and that desire to bridge our businesses and create something bigger was still there. We joked about how we could build it and run it, and “oh the fun we would have”.

Then came October 2020. We took a girls weekend to experience Christy Wright's Business Boutique conference, virtually, of course. We adventured to Chincoteague Island and while there, we shared the “one thing” in our business that we were scared to do. The “one thing” we continued to come back to. We talked about it, and declared it.

Fast forward to December 2020. Meg said "What if we just do it?” We started planning what we wanted our business to be and then we took the BIGGEST leap of faith, jumped in with both feet, and leased a space. We did everything slightly backwards, but God lead every step of the way. And now, here we are, owners of Hampton Roads first ever postpartum wellness house. We support our clients from prenatal to parenthood, and beyond, with our primary focus on postpartum.

Tina and Meg, along with all of the other incredible ladies of The Juniper House have seen how little support moms receive after baby arrives. Most of us have experienced it first hand. We wanted a space to support mothers and families, and to get them the support and resources they need and deserve.

It has already been quite a ride and we cannot wait to see what else blossoms at The Juniper House!
